The initial Strata release brings a flexible set of storefront sections, templates, and shared settings for editorial commerce.
Features
- Flexible content and media sections with reusable blocks and multiple presentation modes.
- Product pages with configurable media layouts, variant controls, product information blocks, recommendations, and recently viewed products.
- Collection and search experiences with filters, sorting, responsive product grids, and drawer options.
- Shared controls for typography, colors, spacing, button treatments, motion, blur, logos, social links, currency display, swatches, and cart behavior.
- Header, Footer, announcement, popup, cart drawer, and search drawer options that work together across the storefront.
Merchant setup
- Add Strata from the Shopify Theme Store as a draft theme, then open Edit theme and review it before publishing. See Getting started.
- Configure global settings first, then add sections and blocks to the templates that need them.
- Preview desktop and mobile layouts before publishing, including product variants, cart states, filters, forms, and any enabled motion.
Accessibility and performance
- Responsive layouts provide separate mobile controls where a narrow viewport needs a different presentation.
- Keyboard focus, readable contrast, meaningful image alternative text, and reduced-motion preferences are supported throughout the theme.
- Video and animation settings can be reduced or disabled when they distract from content or affect a visitor's device.
Known release notes
- Transparent Header is available only on supported opening media surfaces; check the first section and logo contrast together.
- Product Fullscreen horizontal and Fullscreen vertical media layouts are desktop presentations; mobile keeps product information expanded.
- Filters, drawers, popups, and Footer Reveal depend on the selected layout and visitor device. Review each enabled surface in the storefront before publishing.
- The theme uses Shopify product, collection, market, and content data. Apps and third-party content may add their own controls or behavior.
