Password

The Password template is the storefront landing page shown while password protection is enabled. It provides the store name, password message, and password-entry form while the rest of the storefront remains private.

Open the Password template

1. From Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
2. Use the page selector to open Password.
3. Select the Password section.
4. Preview the page without exposing a real storefront password in screenshots or support messages.

Template order

The current saved Password template contains one section:

1. Password

The password message itself is supplied by Shopify's password settings; it is not a text field in the Strata section schema.

Spacing

Section spacing

• Controls: Sets Password section spacing to None, Small, Medium, or Large. The current default is Medium.

Top spacing

• Controls: Adds or removes top spacing. The current default is on.

Bottom spacing

• Controls: Adds or removes bottom spacing. The current default is on.

Storefront states

The current section displays the translated private-store message, the store name, any password message configured in Shopify, a password field, and the Enter action. The exact message is not controlled by a Strata text setting.

Do not publish or place a real password in a screenshot, URL, documentation example, or support request.

Desktop and mobile behavior

A final guide should verify the password form, long store names, translated messages, and keyboard focus at desktop and mobile sizes. Exact breakpoints and responsive layout are intentionally not stated here.

Media recommendations

The current Password section exposes no image or video setting. Keep the page focused on the access message and password action.

Accessibility and motion

Verify that the password field has a visible label, the Enter action is keyboard reachable, and error feedback is announced. Confirm reduced-motion behavior before documenting any transition.

Common checks

• If a password message does not change, edit Shopify's password settings rather than looking for a Strata section text control.
• If the password form is not shown, confirm the storefront password is enabled and that the Password template is being previewed.
