Build consistent Shopify pages with Strata templates.

Templates control which sections appear for a type of Shopify resource, such as a product, collection, article, or page. Resources that share a template share its section structure.

Choose and assign a template

The Theme Editor page selector open with a list of page types.

Use the page selector at the top of the Theme Editor to open the template you want to edit.

Choose the right template

First decide whether the change should be shared or limited to selected store content.

Open the resource typeIn the Theme Editor, use the page selector to open the product, collection, article, page, or system template.
Use a shared template when the structure should matchEdit an existing template when every assigned resource should receive the change.
Create a template for a different structureCreate a new template when selected resources need a different section arrangement.
Preview with your contentUse Preview > Change to select the resource to preview. This does not change its assigned template.
Assign an available templateShopify admin lists templates from the published theme. When the template is available there, assign it to the matching product, collection, article, or page.

Check before publishing

Template review

Test the content and storefront states that can change the layout.

AssignmentsConfirm the correct resources use the intended template.
Content lengthTest empty, short, and long content where those states are possible.
Shopping statesCheck product variants, collection filters, search, and cart where applicable.
Navigation and system statesReview blog navigation, password, and 404 experiences where applicable.
